In Austria, locomotives and tramways go through the time tunnel.
When the whistle of the century-old steam locomotive blows in the idyllic Alpine valleys of Carinthia, time travel is assured. In this province, the southernmost province of Austria, a gigantic museum houses hundreds of historic vehicles: locomotives, tramways, buses and even ships are maintained and operated here.
In addition to the museum, the volunteers of the association Nostalgiebahnen in Kärnten (Old Carinthian Railways) also pamper some 4,000 vehicles of all kinds - from historic fire engines to old police vans and trains - to be offered to the visitors on purpose-built tracks. An unforgettable journey!
