Eighteen months in the life of the LuxLeaks affairs whistleblower, up until the time of his trial.
At the origin of the LuxLeaks scandal, revealed in November 2014, Antoine Deltour is accused by his former employer, auditor giant PricewaterhouseCoopers, of having violated trade secrets and divulged 28,000 pages of confidential fiscal agreements signed between Luxemburg and hundreds of multinationals – including Apple, Amazon and Ikea.
Accused of theft and violation of trade secrecy by the Criminal Court of Luxembourg, he risks up to ten years in prison and a fine of over a million Euros.
On June 29th, 2016, the Criminal Court of Luxembourg sentenced him to pay a fine of 1,500 Euros and serve a conditional 12-month prison sentence. He has decided to appeal the decision so that his trail might provide a platform for a more ethical Europe. In the meantime, he is trying to resume a normal life.
