For a long time, their schools and universities were the pride of Lebanon: every year, thousands of doctors, lawyers, economists, and engineers finished their education with flying colours in a highly respected education sector. But since the economic and political crisis started in 2019, the whole system has fallen apart.

At the height of the Cold War in 1957, at a time when the USSR and the USA were locked in ferocious competition, the US federal government created the "National Radio Quiet Zone". This vast area of 33,000 km² in rural Virginia, where radio communication is restricted, is used for scientific research and military intelligence.

They get less pocket money than their brothers, who demand more... An approach that is set to remain different over the years. Girls are better at school, they do better in higher education, but they often end up choosing less lucrative careers. Is their "natural" attraction to nursing professions real or artificial? When they choose "better paid" careers, they come up against the so-called "glass ceiling". Added to this is the "motherhood penalty". Discrimination against women in the workplace is thus relayed into the private life, where unpaid domestic work gradually organizes the impoverishment of women... a long-identified plague that continues to ruin women's lives. In many countries worldwide, institutions sometimes drive the nail in, reinforcing the advantage acquired by men. Awareness is growing, and women are realizing that they must take their financial destiny into their own hands... or else they could lose their independence.

A series of discussions with international specialists who think the world through the prism of property. We will explore this multi-faceted concept with a loose temporality, through the ownership of body and mind, our rights and the idea of collective property. 

In 2022, how to conceptualize property? Can we move away from a solely Western vision? What can we learn from the vision of traditional societies in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania? How was it historically understood in China, India or Japan? And how is it understood today in the Anglo-Saxon world, where property ownership, as in the Middle Ages, is often divided between ownership of the land and ownership of the house or building (leasehold/freehold)? 
Is the cycle of property rights we are in still expanding, or is it coming to an end? With the sharing economy, are we replacing the principle of exclusive exploitation by that of shared use? Will the commons model become dominant? 

Everywhere on the planet cities seem to pop up and grow, sometimes despite climatic or geographical conditions that seem impossible to live in. How do people acclimate to lead a normal life?

The inhabitants of a fishing village on the remote south coast of Newfoundland are to pack their bags - for good. The government supports the relocation with 270,000 dollars per household, maintaining public infrastructure would be even more expensive. 

Gaultois is one of five communities along the south coast of Newfoundland that are not accessible by road - to get there, you have to take a ferry or helicopter. 100 of the original 700 inhabitants still live here. But the place is by no means "dead". Despite its fading glory, the community in Gaultois still exists. In 2023, there will be a new vote on the continued existence of Gaultois - but the village is torn apart.
