Since Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived in power, thousands of opponents of the regime have been tortured, imprisoned or killed, and several hundred others have quite simply disappeared. The Egyptian media have been reduced to silence. The repression is affecting the whole of society, including NGOs.
