Since the end of November, Zimbabwe has been writing a new chapter in its history. Robert Mugabe has resigned after 37 years in power following a military coup by Emmerson Mnangagwa – one of his close followers – leaving the country in shambles.

New elections are scheduled to take place in the next six months. But the country’s future is more than uncertain.
Robert Mugabe’s great political reform was the land redistribution of the 2000s – it has destroyed this great agricultural country’s economy and deeply shook its demography. Today more than 90% of the population is unemployed. The country is experiencing a liquidity shortage. There is no more money in Zimbabwe.
What is left of its agriculture which used to be the main contributor to the country’s economy? Who is still cultivating Zimbabwe’s soils? How is life for the locals during this transition state?
