Jair Bolsonaro, the newly elected Brazilian president is worrisome. He longs for the worst days of the military dictatorship and has a habit of making racist, misogynistic and homophobic provocations. Nevertheless, his electoral base is young and very vocal online.
Bolsonaro intends to shape this youth in his own image – starting from childhood. He promised to create new military colleges run by the army, where patriotism and nationalism will be the pillars of education.
The new Brazilian president's first battle is ideological: to win it, he surrounded himself with particularly violent and unapologetic lobbyists – like the supporters of the "Nonpartisan School" movement. The latter considers public school teachers as "Marxist ideologues" who must be "eradicated".
Supported by young pro-Bolsonaro representatives, this movement does not hesitate to post pictures of teachers judged too left-wing on social networks. Even if it means ruining their lives...
