Every three weeks, the riot cops tear apart the Puythouck forest migrant camp – near the Grande-Synthe mall in the North of France. In november 2018, more than 2.000 have allegedly been “sheltered”.
This “sheltering” actually consists in dispersing the migrants throughout the region – sometimes even just leaving them alone in the street – far from the Puythouck forest where their camping gear has been impounded – in the hopes that they stop settling in the area. Those exiles are mostly Kurdish – and most of them have chosen to leave as a family. The children are sleeping on the dirt, in the cold. While the teenagers are taking care of each other – between their dreary day-to-day and their dreams of reaching England. All of them are trying to survive the next police intervention.
