It's a strange phone booth, called "the wind phone". Having become a social phenomenon, it is not connected to anything and it is open to everyone. For ten years, Japanese people have been speaking to their dead, killed by the tsunami in 2011.

Some cry, others remain silent, overwhelmed by pain. Many families have not found the bodies of their loved ones, victims of the tsunami. It was an old man who had the idea to install it in his garden in Otsuchi.

In Japan, where showing one's weaknesses in public is considered disrespectful, this phone to the beyond offers a relief through words to the survivors of a devastated region.  Filmed over several seasons, this report reveals the transformation of a traumatized region that is trying to rebuild and protect itself with the construction of an anti-tsunami wall, a gigantic concrete barrier that separates the sea from the people all along the north coast of Japan.
