In Mexico, the struggle against violence against women has a new icon: the Bloque Negro. Hooded, dressed in black from head to toe, organized in small groups, a new generation of feminists is raising their fists in favor of the recognition of women's rights.

These anarchist activists are far removed from the previous generation, that of matriarchs who marched in a crestfallen silence. They are claiming themselves to be from the "Black Bloc" movement that has been rioting in European capitals. In their eyes, every man is a potential predator, a danger to women. Their slogan: "No mercy, no forgetting" for all sexual abusers. This radicalization of the feminist movement sometimes turns into street fights throughout the country. In 2019, nearly 4,000 Mexican women were murdered. Feminicide was only recognized in 976 cases. 99% of murders of women go unpunished.
