In northwestern Syria, after 9 years of war and about 500,000 deaths, the province of Idleb is facing an unprecedented humanitarian and economic crisis, aggravated by the coronavirus pandemic.
Surrounded by forces of the regime and its Russian ally, the population of Idleb province receives almost no humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, the most vulnerable families are forced to make their children work to survive.
Many of them have left school to toil away, such as Hammoudé, 12 years old, who has become the breadwinner, and his brother Karmou, 9 years old. Both work themselves to death in a garage for a pittance. But to support their family, they are ready to make any sacrifice.
