In Argentina, Covid-19 continues to spread despite the world's longest lockdown. The Buenos Aires region has been subject to drastic constraints since mid-March. Guernica, in the suburbs of Buenos Aires has become a makeshift camp for 2500 families, all victims of the pandemic.

As a result, the already dire economic situation continues to worsen. The poverty rate rose to 41% of the population in the first half of the year – a figure that translates to 18.5 million people in the country. The health and economic crisis has made many families homeless.
In Argentina, as in many countries, not receiving a salary means not being able to afford rent, and thus being evicted. Since mid-July, more than 2,500 families have been occupying a large piece of land in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. The name of the site: Guernica. What looked like a huge wasteland at first has now turned into a shantytown of shacks and makeshift shelters.
