Fereshta Azimi lived for a year and a half in the overcrowded camp of Moria, which she was able to leave shortly before it was destroyed by a huge fire in September 2020. Two years of interminable waiting in a camp, as many uncertainties; nevertheless, Fereshta refuses to give up.

She was transferred with her family to Ioannina, a town in western Greece an hour from the Albanian border six months ago. This has been the last stop on her odyssey for now, as the doors to a new life remain hopelessly closed for this young Afghan. She is rediscovering a semblance of freedom on her bicycle, donated by an NGO.
Her application for asylum, which dates back to 2020, is still still in administrative limbo... So, to escape doom and gloom, she gives English and dance lessons to the women in the camp.
At 18, the age of hopes and dreams, Fereshta seems to be stuck in an interminable wait. Yet the young woman refuses to give up, driven by the hope of finally living a serene and peaceful life. Some day. Hopefully.
