What does being a woman mean in contemporary Cambodian society, where the massacres of the Pol Pot regime still echo, and where the Khmer identity is still trying to establish itself, between maintaining traditions and the spectacular evolution of its capital Phnom Penh, driven by the Asian economic boom?

Beauty and physical appearance have become important issues in today’s Cambodia, in order to find a job and exist socially. Benefitting from the influence of other models and lifestyles, an increasing number of Cambodian women are attempting to push back the boundaries of a conservative society. All the characters in this film reveal a country that is in the throes of change, in which they do not which to play secondary roles.
