In the 19th century, a slave revolt broke out in Haiti and thousands of its inhabitants took refuge in New Orleans. The capital of Louisiana is then considered a place of destruction where blacks can be equals of whites.
From architecture to cuisine, passing through spirituality, the influence of these Haitian immigrants will be exerted on all facets of the city and will help to preserve the Creole society.
