At the northern tip of Rhodes, an imposing building stands proudly facing the Mediterranean: the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes.
This fortified castle still bears witness to the power of the Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem (or Knights Hospitaller). Driven out of the Holy Land, they settled here in the 14th century. From this island, they resisted the Muslim powers for two centuries and left their mark on this Greek territory.
