The exceptional success story of today’s most famous fashion designer, told through 10 years of exclusive archives and backstage footage of his latest fashion show. Jacquemus’ magnificent catwalk scenographies flood the press and social media. Worshipped by international stars, he is often compared to Jean Paul Gaultier in the 1980s.
At only 33, Simon Porte Jacquemus is the founder and artistic director of his eponymous brand Jacquemus – still independent and not owned by any large luxury group. We first heard is name in 2015, when he won the LVMH Jury Prize. His mini bag Chiquito, the width of a credit card, has been a bestseller since its creation in September 2018. His message has remained the same since the beginning: create clothes for liberated women, sexy women. His cabin of models is mixed-race, he is one of the first designers to leave curly-coily hair unstraightened, and he refuses models who are too skinny. And yet in 2022, his turnover reached 200 million euros, which means it has doubled from the previous year and is said to reach 500 million euros by 2025.
While following the preparation that precedes his next show, the film also retraces this incredible French success story. In the footsteps of this contemporary fashion genius: from the creative process and how he works with his teams, to the heart of a fashion show in front of an exceptional star-studded crowd: Vincent Cassel, Dua Lipa, Angèle, Sophie Marceau, Pamela Anderson, Victoria and David Beckham, among others...
