Siberian cedar pine nuts are much appreciated by fine gourmets for their delicate taste. They are also lauded for their alleged medicinal properties. Every fall, entire families head to the region’s golden mountains to pick the pine cones and harvest their oil seeds.

24-year-old Aronat Bakchukov’s entire family bravely faces the hardships associated with this harvest. But this year, Aronat is even more motivated to spare no effort: after the harvest, he will go on an internship at one of the pine nut processing companies in the big city of Novosibirsk. After getting to know the city and its liveliness, will he even want to return to his small village?
