Every year, hundreds of baby seals are born on the beaches of the North Sea. Tourists who want to see the show often get too close to the seal pups, making the mothers flee and abandon their pups. This is the seal rescuers’ cue!

This spectacle of nature is repeated at the beginning of each summer. It attracts the eyes of thousands of onlookers who flock to watch the birth of the baby seals. When dogs or humans get too close to the pups, they leave their own scent on them. The pups are then rejected by their mothers and are no longer suckled. To prevent them from starving to death, the rangers pick them up and take them to the nearest veterinary clinic. There the babies are cared for and raised for several weeks. Most importantly, they learn to feed themselves and compete with other juveniles before being released
