There are over 150 different species of lemur on the island of Madagascar. However most of them are at risk of losing their habitat as a tragic result of deforestation. The ring-tailed lemur has been able to adapt and has colonised a type of desert terrain that is unusual for its species.
Roger Ramarokoto is a primatologist and devotes his life to studying lemurs. He carries out his research in the Anja Park in the south of the island. This region of the Madagascan uplands features majestic granite mountains. The ring-tailed lemurs are managing to survive in a few isolated areas of forestland that are interspersed among the proliferation of rocks.
