It is said that the horse is the most noble conquest of humankind. Thanks to it, humankind has been able to master the great spaces, to wage war and to trace trade routes.

At least until the industrial revolutions of the 19th century, from the shores of the Atlantic to the steppes of Central Asia, the horse was ubiquitous. However, its history is long and eventful. It began about 60 million years ago, somewhere in the great steppes of present-day Mongolia. The horse we all know belongs to the large family of mammals that walk on their nails, not on their toes. Like zebras, donkeys, goats, antelopes or camels, the horse is therefore, for specialists, an “ungulate”.
