Sarah Wiener travels to Bavaria to discover the secrets of the local bread making.

On the Troll family’s organic farm, she takes part in the harvesting and threshing of the wheat, and then she makes hay bales.
 
She is given advice from chef Christian Birnkammer on cooking different varieties of wheat: small German wheat, kamut and common wheat.
 
Back on the farm, she concocts a surprise dessert – a tasty, flaky pastry dough with raisins, nuts and plums.
